November 14, 2004 - Today I finally could pick up
Chester and
Casey at
Rattery Ratcity, and bring them home
with me. After the journey of over an hour by car, they went straight into
their new cage. For a while they just sat in their little wooden house, but
after I put my hand in there (which perhaps reassured them?), they suddenly
decided to explore. Chester immediately went up the ramps and in the tubes,
he climded the walls of the cage, and he even went out unto the couch (and
on me). Casey was a bit more hessitant and wouldn't go upstairs until later
in the evening.
Chester is quite an
oppertunist: When I gave him something to eat (just a bit of Reggie Rat
food), he ran inside to "hide" it, and then instantly returned
for more. Meanwhile I could hear Casey
chewing up the food! It would seem that Casey is not only the quiet one,
but also the smarter of the two. :-)
