August 4, 2007 - Summer has finally kicked in out
here, so my livingroom is also heating up. I'm sure there are places where
it gets way hotter, but we (me and the rats) find
26°C/79°F already rather warm. And when we find things rather warm,
we always call for ice scream: "I scream, you scream, everybody wants
ice cream!"
Of course the cream part of ice cream would be too fat for
the rats, so they only get the ice. But I did put
small pieces of different sorts of mellon inside the ice cubes, which they
very much appreciated, Pancho did especially.
While the others just licked the ice cubes a bit, Pancho carried them one
by one all the way from the bottom to the top of the
cage, where he gnawed his way to the little
pieces of mellon as quickly as possible. This way I don't think Pancho
cooled down very much though.
