Reunion rats
February 4, 2006 - It's almost a fortnight ago that
Chester had a lipoma
surgically removed. Since then he has been recovering in my
spare cage, away from his
cage mates. They have visited him a couple of
times, but Chester didn't really seem to appreciate their visits much.
Chester's wound is healing
just fine. The bandage the vet stitched on it has almost
"disappeared" :-p, but the actual stitches are
holding. He has an appointment with the
vet next Tuesday, when his
stitches will be removed. Because everything seem to go so well, I had a
little (not much) hope that I could reunite
Chester with the rest
today, after cleaning the cage. So I first cleaned the
spare cage, and then put Chester and his
brother Casey in it. They smelled eachother's
balls for a while (seriously), and before I knew it Casey was lying still
on his back and Chester was grooming him. A few minutes later the roles
were turned around. So I then added Mink, and not
much later Dylan, and they got along just
fine.
So now they're all back together again, as if nothing has
happened. Only this morning I discovered that
Casey had been bitten by either
Mink or Dylan
(probably Dylan) during the night, but now they're as sweet as apple pie.
Let's hope it stays this way, or at least until
Chester's stitches are out.
